Robert Dennis

Robert D. Dennis, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at his home. Bob was born October 16, 1933 in Caro, the son of the late Charles & Vivian (Johnson) Dennis and was a lifelong area resident. Following graduation from Caro High School in 1951, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952, serving in Texas and Africa. Bob was united in marriage with the former Geneva G. Jickling on March 24, 1990 in Caro. For thirty-three years, Bob was employed at the Caro Regional Center as an attendant nurse retiring as a supervisor in 1989. Bob was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge #1049 and the Caro American Legion Post #7. During his free time, Bob enjoyed doing home carpentry, woodworking and riding his bike around the park. In addition to his wife, Geneva G. Dennis of Caro, Bob is survived by five children and their spouses, Linda Renee Dennis of Flint, Troy & Beth Dennis of Caro, Brenda & Fred Racine of Deford, Matthew Dennis of Silverwood, Kathleen & Joe Urmos of Vassar; three step-children and their spouses, Janet & Rod Kramer living in Florida, Kathy & Jack Matuszak of Caro, Tom & Robyn Jickling of Oxford; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Rose of California and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two brothers, Bruce and Jack Dennis.
