Robert H. Dubs age 82 of Pigeon passed away early Tuesday morning, May 5, at Huron Medical Center, Bad Axe.
He was born August 29, 1932 in Grant Twp. at the home of his parents, the late Harvey and Laura (Welchner) Dubs.
Shortly after Bob graduated from Elkton High School in 1952, he was called to service in the US Army during the Korean War.
On January 20 1955, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Metzger at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elkton.
Bob worked at the gravel pits south of Elkton for John Vollmer before taking a position with the Huron County Road Commission, retiring in 1991, with 35 years of service.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton and Pigeon VFW Post # 2236. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, watching his grandkid’s sporting events and going to the coffee clutch in Bay Port. Bob took pride in his yard and garden, and loved to tinker in his wood shop and collect Hess toy Trucks.
Surviving are his wife 60 years, Eleanor; children, Lois Diebel of Bay Port, Debbie (Tom) Smith of Freeland and Roger (Connie) Dubs of Pigeon; grandchildren, Shawn (Stacy) Diebel, Chad (Kris) Diebel, Jason (Shannon) Diebel, Jessica Smith (Pat Struble), Kyle and Kevin Dubs; great grandchildren, Allyson, Jordyn, Bradyn, Kacey, Kaylee, Olivia, Addison, Reese and Garrett; siblings, Delores (Ellis) Gardner, Erma (Russ) Hazard, Mike (Connie) Dubs and Judy Eisinger; sister-in-law, Dorothy Graf and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and veteran honors will be conducted 7:30, Friday May 8, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Elder Karen Bouverette will officiate with interment in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon.
