Robert Fredrick Engelhardt

Robert F. Engelhardt, age 64, of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. Robert was born at home in Sebewaing, March 16, 1947 to Elmer A. Engelhardt and Leola L. (Dickson) Engelhardt.

Robert is a proud Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. On May 11, 1968 he married the love of his life, Sherryl L. (Dodds) in Yakima, Washington. Robert worked many years as a press operator at Sebewaing Industries. He was a lifetime member of the Sebewaing VFW, a life member of the NRA and was an active volunteer for the Saginaw VA. He believed nothing beat a FORD and enjoyed listening to country music. He is well known for driving his golf cart around town. He enjoyed his dogs and spending time with his loving grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Sherryl L. Engelhardt. His mother, Leola L. Engelhardt. His loving children: Wendy (Jeffery) Collins and Jodi (Peter) Smith. His grandchildren: Kayla, Jessica, Louie Robert, Caleb, Allyssa, Dustin and Brianna. His siblings: Arthur Roger (Linda), Judy (Ken) Fuerst, Ronald, Mark, and Doralee (Gary) Shulz. He is known as "Uncle M&M" to many loving nieces and nephews.

Robert is predeceased by his son, Charles Arthur Engelhardt; his father, Elmer A. Engelhardt; and his sister-in-law, Vera Engelhardt.

Visitation Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 2-9pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Sebewaing.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church – Kilmanagh. Visiting will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery – Kilmanagh, in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home.
