Robert Fader

Robert Dennis Fader passed peacefully on Saturday January 6, 2007, surrounded by his family at his home, age 58. He was born December 14, 1948 in Cass City, the son of the late Vern E. Gertrude E. (Putnam) Fader. He grew up in Columbia Township, graduating from Unionville-Sebewaing Area High School. He served with the U.S. Army in an extended tour in Viet Nam in 1970. For over twenty-two years he was employed as a carpenter for the Human Development Commission in Caro in its rehab and winterization programs, retiring in 2003. Robert was a member of the Caro First Baptist Church, the Caro American Legion Post #7, Caro VFW #4164, the Richville Conservation Club and the National Turkey Federation. Being a carpenter was Bobs profession, but he also enjoyed working on carpentry projects as a hobby, at home for his family expanding their living space or fix-up projects for his friends. While in fragile health in recent years, Bob continued to enjoy hunting, fishing and watching the deer out his living room windows. Bob married the former Rita S. Hayes on June 24, 1995 in Unionville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David Abke and his wife, Joelle of Crofton, Maryland and Kevin Abke of Columbus, Nebraska; four grandchildren; four brothers, Jerold (Mary) Fader of Caro, James (Sandy) Fader of Fairgrove, William (Norma) Fader of Unionville, Douglas (Colleen) Fader of Unionville and many nieces and nephews.
