Robert Lee Gault, 87, of Sand Point, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Bob was born April 21, 1930 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Robert and Stella (Lamb) Gault. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Ford Motor Company as an electrical engineer in 1985. He was a past grandmaster of the Ashlar Masonic Lodge in Detroit. He moved from Garden City to his home on Sand Point in 1996. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; children Janet (Ed) Yonker and Christine Gault, both of Holland; step-children Debbie Zegler of Attica, William (Julie) Moore of Grand Rapids, Kelly (Richard) Long of Rochester Hills, and Scott Moore of Oakland Twp; grandsons Matthew and Brian Williams; step-grandchildren Edward, Michael and Shelby Zegler, Robyn Risdon-Moore, Bryan Moore, Megan Morse, Paige Long and Ian Moore; great-grandchildren Connor, Caden, Lukas, Hudson, Scarlett, Piper, Layla and Hadley; brother Jerry Gault of Garden City; sister Donna (Paul) Noffsinger of Westland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Emma and second wife Joan.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, April 14 th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the time of the service at 2:00pm.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
