Robert Wesley Howard

Robert W. Howard, age 80, of Caseville, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon of complications from Parkinson's Disease.

Bob was born April 15, 1926 in Standish to the late Bert and Edith (Maynard) Howard. He grew up and worked on the family farm on Howard Road, east of Caseville. As a young farmer he would drive a team of horses before the family had a tractor to work the fields.

He married Emma Guza of Bad Axe on October 24, 1953 in Caseville. He worked many years farming and he retired from Bushey Brothers Tiling. He was a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Caseville Eagles. He enjoyed square dancing and spending his winters in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Bob is survived by his wife Emma; children Georgia (Joe) Auer of Caseville, Gregory of Seattle, Michael of Fullerton, California, and Mary (Stefan Cieply) of Charlottesville, Virginia; grandchildren Sara, Becky and J.J.; and 10 brothers and sisters: Bertha (Steven) Gillingham of California, Clayton (Joan) of Clio, Jean Hunt of Bad Axe, Richard (Hallie) of Clio, Charles (Gretchen) of Frankenmuth, Dale of Bad Axe, Joyce Sommerfeld of Kalamazoo, Gary (Maxine) of Goodrich, Sharon (Ala) Kumaus of Freeland and Janice (Robert) Martinez of California.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Caseville United Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Voss officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bad Axe.

Visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10 AM Saturday until the time of the service at church.
