Robert H. Jarvis 79 of Elkton formerly of Drayton Plains died Friday at Covenant Harrison, Saginaw.
He was born October 22, 1925, in Los Angeles, CA to the late Harold and Helen (Maglocsky) Jarvis.
Bob served in the US Army Air Corp during WW II as an Air Traffic Controller at Selfredge AFB. When he returned home, he was united in marriage to Dolores L. Seidel on June 22, 1946 in Detroit. She preceded him in death July 6, 1984.
He was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, assistant Scoutmaster, Explorer Advisor, Senior Patrol Guide and Life Scout. He was introduced into the Midwest Water Ski Hall of Fame and was a member of Lake Oakland Ski Demons, Michigan Water Ski Assn., and Michigan Bare-Footers Assn. Bob was one of only two judges from Michigan for National Water Ski Tournaments. He was also a member of the Waterford Chippers and Carvers, Waterford Senior Citizens Center and the Sand Point Carvers. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Linkville and an avid hunter.
Bob was a senior layout draftsman at GM Truck and Bus and retired in 1980 after over 24 years of service.
On May 18, 1985, he was united in marriage to Beatrice (Kinkle) Madsen in Waterford and moved to Elkton a short time later.
He leaves wife, Beatrice; two daughters, Diane (Mary Costello) Holcomb of Pontiac and Karen (Clarence) Bergeron of Clinton Twp., three grandchildren, Joann (Mark) Kenney of Flushing, Doug Lampson of Waterford and Tricia (Dan) Kletke of St. Louis; twenty great grandchildren; a great great grandson; his brother, Allen (Vera) Jarvis and nieces, Lynn (Vince) Anderson of Clinton Twp. and Denise (Jerry) Maison of Warren.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Sunday and after 10 AM Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home.
