Robert Keefer

Robert M. Keefer, age 80, of Caro, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Covenant Health Care-Harrison in Saginaw. He was born on May 14, 1928 in Huntington, Indiana to the late Charles and Mildred (Hiers) Keefer. On October 10, 1948 Robert Keefer married the former Lela “Joan” Fetterolf. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2002. Robert had served in the National Guard. He had been employed in the telephone business, retiring from Centurytel, where he held many positions from lineman to managerial. He was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church, and enjoyed many years of R.V. travel with Saginaw Valley Travel Club. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Keefer and her husband, Carl Ritter of Milan and Susan Rock and Gary Zellar of Caro; three grandchildren, Jason Keefer of Playa Del Ray, California, Heather Rock and Mickey Wright of Las Vegas, Nevada and Justin Rock of Caro; 3 great-grandchildren, Parker, Robert and Micki. The funeral will be held at the Caro United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers, Michigan on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to Susan G.
