Robert Carl Keehn, Jr.

Robert Carl Keehn, Jr. of Mayville, also known as "the Colonel," age 72, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at McLaren - Lapeer Region in Lapeer. Bob was born February 21, 1949 in Pontiac, the son of the late Robert, Sr. and Deloris (Reno) Keehn. He served two years with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, Bob and his father owned and operated Keehns Disposal and he spent many years in the garbage profession. As time went on, he became a caregiver for his parents. Bob worked most recently as an Amish transporter. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hot rods, coon hunting, and street racing. He never met anyone that didn't walk away a friend. Bob loved to eat and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Robert is survived by one daughter, Renee Thorp of Lapeer; two grandchildren, Allen Thorp III and Larissa Thorp, both of Lapeer; two sisters, Connie & Hobert Helton of Davison, and Denise & Fred Longtine of Burton; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Connie Provost. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Keehn. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 4, 2022 at East Dayton Cemetery. To continue honoring Bob, a funeral luncheon will be held at Veterans You Are Not Forgotten at the Mayville Museum, 2124 East Ohmer Road (M24), Mayville, MI 48744. Cemetery Information Date: Saturday, June 4, 2022 Time: 11:00 am Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 4, 2022 at East Dayton Cemetery.
