Robert Kratz

Robert K. Kratz, age 82, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 12, 2009 at Caro Community Hospital. Robert was born January 11, 1927 in Reese, the son of the late Herman Kratz, Sr. & Ethel (Gulliver) Kratz, and was a lifelong area resident. Bob was united in marriage with the former Jean Plumb on August 11, 1950 in Angola, Indiana. He worked as a groundman for Detroit Edison for over forty-three years, retiring in 1989. Bob will be remembered as a man of great kindness that enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting the family cabin near Lupton. Robert is survived by his wife of more than fifty-eight years, Jean Kratz of Caro; four children and their spouses, Larry & Nancy Kratz of Essexville, Jerry & Margaret Kratz of Kingston, Donna Kratz of Caro, Deloris Kratz of Caro; one grandson, Leon Kratz and his special friend, Rachel; one great-granddaughter, McKenzie Kratz of Caro; three brothers, one sister and their spouses, Herman, Jr. & Dorothy Kratz of Caro, Leo Kratz of Caro, Dean & Luella Kratz of Caro, Elaine & Cecil Clinesmith of Silverwood; one sister-in-law, Mary Kratz of Taylor and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Kratz in 1998; two brothers, Thurman Kratz, and Charles Kratz; and one sister, Janice Gould.
