Robert D. Millerwise

Robert D. Millerwise, age 92, of Sebewaing, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.

Robert was born in Sebewaing on March 16, 1923 to Herman and Edith (Finkbeiner) Millerwise. After high school graduation he joined the United States Army and was seriously wounded in WWII. He received a Purple Heart. After the war he married Mary L. Sequin in Memphis, TN, on June 28, 1947. They just celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Robert enjoyed wildflower photography, woodcarving, sailing, camping, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Sebewaing VFW Post and a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Scott (Jill) Millerwise of Sebewaing, Beth (Howard) Fiebig of Sebewaing and Lynn (James) Spurr of Portage; sister-in-law, Kathy Millerwise; grandchildren: Steven Millerwise, Stephanie Adam, Joel (Becky) Fiebig, Erica Spurr and Christopher Spurr; great grandchildren: Ryan and Matthew Millerwise, Garrett and Lauren Adam, Kasen, Paige and Jake Fiebig; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his three brothers, Carl, Howard and Gerald Millerwise.

Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2015, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.

The funeral service will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing at 12pm (noon).

Memorial donations may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church or Anka Akron Veterans Transitional Housing Program.
