Robert A. Nehring

Robert A. Nehring of Clare, age 94, passed away at Tendercare in Clare on Sunday, August 31, 2014, after a period of declining health. Robert was born February 11, 1920 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of the late Urban and Melina (Dionne) Nehring. Upon graduation from high school, he served in the US Navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was united in marriage with Jean Longtine on October 20, 1945 in Duluth, Minnesota. They moved to Royal Oak where he worked until his retirement for Modco in Southfield as an expediter. Upon his retirement, the Nehring's moved to Caro. Bob coached little league football and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his loving wife, Jean, Bob is survived by three sons and one daughter, Robert & Natalie Nehring of Reno, Nevada, Ron & Marilyn Nehring of Clarkston, Rick & Lynn Nehring of Clare, and Kim Kohler & Tom Belanger of Madison Heights; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Robert's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family remembrance has taken place.
