Robert Daniel Quinn, age 79, lifelong Caseville resident, died July 20, 2005 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw of injuries received in a car accident on July 11th.
Bob was born September 24, 1925 in Caseville to the late Daniel and Mary (Corbett) Quinn. He graduated from Pigeon High School in 1943. He served in the US Navy during World War II. After the war, he worked as a trooper for the Michigan State Police and then as a Deputy for the Huron County Sheriff until 1963. He married Mary Kathleen Cherry in 1954 in Carlton. In 1963 he began working as mail carrier for the US Post Office in Caseville, retiring in 1987.
Bob was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville American Legion, and the Caseville Historical Society. He was a former member of the Caseville Eagles, Caseville Optomists, Caseville Kiwanis, and the Huron County Jury Commission. He enjoyed boating and diving, participating in community and family activities, and watching local and family sports.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years Mary K.; sons Daniel (Rhonda) of Caseville, Mark (Karen) of Naperville, Illinois and Timothy of Caseville; grandchildren Katherine, Shawn, Kyle, Lauren, Matthew, Ryan, Kristen and Kevin; and a sister, Delores Stefan of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Theresa “Teri,” brother James, and sister Doris Marshall.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Monday, July 25th at St. Roch Catholic Church, Fr. Ken Yaroch presiding. Burial with military honors will be at St. Roch Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 PM Saturday and Noon-6PM Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville as well as from 9:00 AM Monday until the time of Mass at church. There will be a scripture service on Sunday at 6:00PM.
Memorials may be made to the Caseville Historical Society.
