Robert Lee Schrader, Sr.

Robert Lee Schrader, Sr. of Tucson, Arizona, Prudenville, and Caro, age 87, passed away at his home in Arizona on Sunday, March 6, 2016, with his family at his side. Bob was born September 16, 1928 in Caro, the son of the late Allah and Alice (Binder) Schrader. He was a Caro High School graduate and spent most of his life in Caro. Following his graduation, he spent forty years in the gas and oil business, first working with his father, and eventually as the owner-operator for service stations and petroleum distribution facilities. Bob was a member of the Michigan National Guard, and on March 31, 1950 he was united in marriage with the former Bernice Chambers in Caro. He was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church, enjoyed hunting and traveling, and was a private plane owner and pilot. Robert is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Bernice Schrader, four children and their spouses, Robert, Jr. and Janice Schrader of Bay City, Sherrie and Richard Harrington of Caro, Tamera Rayl of Tucson, Arizona, and Patricia Rinker and her friend, Mark Henley, of Tucson Arizona; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister- and brother-in-law, Ione & Stewart Patterson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Gregg Mayberry of the Caro Methodist Church officiating.
