Robert Charles Ward

Robert Charles Ward of Caro, age 88, passed away on the morning of Friday, September 1, 2023 at his home. Bob was born March 21, 1935 in Detroit, the son of the late Fred and Marie (Hoy) Ward. He graduated from Caro high school and went on to join the U.S. Army reserves. Bob was a general foreman for AC, retiring after thirty-five dedicated years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and parishioner of St. Christopher Parish, Caro and St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida. Bob was also a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and lifetime member of the Tuscola County Mounted Division. He loved to ride horses, hunt in the U.S. and Canada, play euchre at The Ranch in Florida, and spend time on Rush Lake. Above all else, Bob loved being with his family and being a grandpa, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of his life. He will be missed dearly for many years to come.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of sixty-one years, Mary Jo (Romain) Ward; children, Charmain (Mike) Bauerschmidt and John (Rose) Ward; grandchildren, Nicholas (Mary) Bauerschmidt, Travis (Maddison) Bauerschmidt, and Robert (Sierra) Ward; great-grandchildren, Friedrich, Mable, and Ainslee; brother, Jim Ward; many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert Ward; sister, June Ward; and brother; Jack Ward.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Christopher Coman officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Food Pantry.
