Robert P. Wilson age 49 of Bad Axe died Tuesday afternoon June 3, at McLaren Bay Region following a long struggle with diabetes and heart problems.
He was born April 23, 1965 in Bad Axe to Janet (Keyworth) Wilson and the late Robert K. Wilson. Bob lived in Elkton until 1981, when he and his family moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
During and after high school Bob worked at Shotgun Sam’s Pizza as a cook. Cooking became his passion. He then worked at the Kettle Restaurant for several years and then Winchell’s Donut Shop.
At work Bob met a waitress, a girl from Texas, Sherry L. Morgan, and after a one month courtship they married on September 29, 1985, in Broken Arrow and shared 28 years together.
In 1993, they moved back to Huron County, settling in Bad Axe. Shortly thereafter, he landed cooking job at the Peppermill Restaurant, where he worked until he health forced him into early retirement.
Bob was an active member of Faith Gospel Tabernacle, Bad Axe and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry; two sons, Nicholas and Brandon Wilson both of Bad Axe; his mother, Janet Wilson of Bad Axe; siblings, Misti (Rick) England of Bad Axe, Jodi (Dave) May of Chesterfield, Brady Wilson of Pigeon and Robyn (Eric) Switras of Oxford; his grandparents, Bill and Ila (Keyworth) Cook of Marlette and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his father Robert; his brother, Therin, (in January) and his wife, Debbie (in May) and a niece, Brittany Taylor.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, June10 at Faith Gospel Tabernacle, Bad Axe. Memorials or expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family
