Robert Paul Yoder

Robert Paul Yoder, 61, of Caseville, MI, originally born and raised in Iowa, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on February 5, 2025. As were the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Robert was born to Howard James Yoder and Rosa Lea Doolin in Fairfield, Iowa on April 5, 1963. Robert attended Pekin High School in Packwood IA, and graduated in 1982.

In 1994 he was united in marriage to Vicky Welcher, in Nashua, IA, at the Little Brown Church. After 22 years of plumbing, he got tired of crawling under houses in the winter to unthaw pipes, so in the year of 2000 he found his true calling. A long haul truck driver driving across the country, coast to coast, which was his current occupation before passing.

In his free time, Robert loved playing Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War on his computer with his brother Robin and the same clan of friends he has played with for 15+ years, he loved spending time with his grand babies; taking them to the fair and riding rides with them, and he wasn’t afraid to show off his one of a kind sense of humor/personality any chance he got, he always loved making people laugh, even towards the end when he was sick and in the hospital.

Robert is survived by his wife, Vicky Yoder of Caseville; daughter Stormi Yoder/Ney (Ronald Ney); mother Rosa Kessler of Richland, IA; brothers, Jodie Yoder and Robin Yoder (Brenda Yoder); grandchildren, Kace Yoder, Justice Yoder, Kai Yoder, Myla Yoder, Evelyn Yoder and Dailee Yoder; 3 nieces, Nicole Yoder, Cyndal Smith, Keeli Bren McDaniel; 2 nephews, Ryan Yoder, and Sean Yoder.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, father Howard Yoder, step-father Richard Kessler, son Dustin Yoder, and granddaughter, Peytan Yoder.

Even though my dad didn’t know many people here in Michigan, we will be having a memorial service at the Salem Methodist Church in Pigeon, any and everyone is welcome. My dad deserves to be celebrated.

A memorial service will be at 10:30am Saturday, February 22, at Salem Global Methodist Church with Rev. Joshua Johnson officiating.
