Roberta Holcomb

Roberta Berti Holcomb, age 68, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at her home. Roberta was born May 22, 1941 in Vassar, the daughter of the late Clayton & Floris (McIntyre) Hiser. Berti graduated from Cass City High School with the class of 1959. She was employed at Trudeaus Bakery in Caro for eighteen years, then for the Schott-Baird Insurance Agency for several years, managed the Caro Motel for three years and would go on to work as a manager at McDonalds Restaurant in Caro, retiring in 1993. Berti was an avid golfer, playing in many golf leagues over the years at both the Caro Golf Club and Arrowhead Golf Club. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, playing Bingo and gardening. Berti was united in marriage with Robert B. Holcomb on October 9, 1982 in Cass City. Left to cherish Bertis memory are her loving husband, Robert Holcomb of Caro; two sons, Scott Clark and his wife Laurel of Caro, Brian Clark of Caro; one stepson, Terry Holcomb of Caro; four grandchildren, Scott Clark and his wife Kelly Clark of Fairgrove, Randy Clark of Fairgrove, Jamie Clark of Warren, Bryana Clark of Caro; two step-grandchildren, Trever Moyer of Flint, Shane Holcomb of Caro; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol & Bob Baker of Parker, Arizona, Shirley Zissler of Saginaw; two brothers, Ed Hiser and his wife Eileen of Caro, Orson Hiser of Florida; many nieces, nephews and a very special sister-in-law, Marjorie Finkbeiner of Sebewaing. In addition to her parents, Berti was preceded in death by one grandson, Rocky Clark in 1993.
