Roberta Moetteli, 78, of Elkton, died Tuesday evening, November 4, 2014 in Satchel's Christian Retirement Home, Caro, following a long illness.
She was born July 28, 1936 in Bad Axe to the late Will and Vionna (Wolfe) Moetteli. Roberta was a lifelong resident of Elkton.
Roberta graduated from Elkton High School in 1954. After high school she began a job with Hubbard State Bank in Elkton as a teller. Roberta was then hired in the Huron County Treasurer's office where she worked for 11 years until her election as Huron County Treasurer. She held this office for 20 years until her retirement in 2004.
Roberta was a lifelong member of the Elkton Missionary church where she served as treasurer for many years. She was very active in the Republican Party and was a member of the Bad Axe Business and Professional Women's organization. Roberta loved flower gardening, traveling and music. She particularly enjoyed playing the piano.
Roberta is survived by her cousins: Marlene (Phil, MD) Glotfelty of Marshall, Roger (Jean) Maynard of Lapeer, Elizabeth (William) Ingram of Lyons; close friends, Al and Kim Yerke and their son, Matthew, Jeff and Darlene Parsell and their daughters and families, Jaime (Nathan) Fritz, Alysa and Lillyan, Jenny (Russell) Hudson, and Mackenzie.
Funeral services conducted 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton with Dr. Alan Yerke, Roberta's former pastor and friend officiating. Interment will be next to her parents in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
