Roger G Forster age 82, of Elkton passed away Wednesday morning, June1, at his home while under hospice care.
He was born March 13, 1934, at the home of his parents, the late Emanuel and Lydia (Stecker) Forster in Oliver Twp. Roger grew up on the family farm.
On June 26, 1954, he was united in marriage to Almeda “Chris” Profit at the Fraser Presbyterian Church in Old Greenleaf.
Although he has always been a hard worker, having many jobs throughout his life, mostly in the farming area, he is probably best remembered for the “tractor” and “car” mail boxes he made after becoming disabled.
He is a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elkton and continued doing woodworking as long as his health allowed.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Chris; five children, James (Zara) Forster of Cass City, Gary (Vickie) Forster of Sebewaing, Kurt (Shivaun) Forster of Boerne, TX, Crystal (Warren) Kappen of Cass City and William (Steffany) Forster of Elkton; grandchildren, Kiva, Shelley (Tom), Heith (Angela), Dustin, Nathan (Ana), Kyle (Megan), Brady, Logan, Kiersten (Robby) and Amber; great grandchildren, Angelo, Ashley (Trever), Brooklyn, Brittany, Liana, Nicolai, Emma, Corbin, Courtney and coming soon, Raeleigh; a great great grandbaby arriving in December, Baby Phillips; his sister, Marilyn (Bill) Chappel of Elkton and sisters-in-law, Bernice (Joe) Armstead of Grand Blanc, Donna Mae Sturm of Farmington Hills and Carol Forster of Elkton.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Gust, Rudy, John, Otto and Walt and two sisters, Elsie Posade and Edna Forster.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton. Rev. Rodney Schwab, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 Friday at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church after 10:00 AM Saturday.
