Roger Dean Gardner, age 69, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in Wayne. Born May 15, 1943 in Fairgrove to William Benson Gardner and Ernestine Hazel (Cramer) Gardner, he served in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam Conflict and worked most of his career as an Agent-in-Charge with Transworld Airlines. Roger loved to golf, bowl, and was an active member of the American Bowling Congress as well as the Loyal Order of Moose for over 40 years. More than anything, he cherished the time spent with his dog and beloved companion, Sir William, his wife, Delphine, and his family. Roger also enjoyed sports, especially hockey, the Tigers and Michigan. Roger is survived by his wife, Delphine (Sucharski) of “over 40 years,” two brothers and their wives, Robert and Barb, and Ron and Laurie Gardner; two sisters and their husbands Ruth and Pat Neff and Rose and Terry Creteur, and loving sister-in-law, Janet Gardner. He will missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and especially his uncle Ralph and aunt Ethel Cramer. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, William LaJoie, and brother, Raymond Gardner. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Patrick Neff officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Fairgrove. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Roger Gardner Family Discretionary Fund.
