Roger Jagodzinski

Roger Walter Jagodzinski, age 68, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born July 7, 1943 in Detroit, the son of the late Walter and Stephanie (Kieliszewski) Jagodzinski. On June 20, 1964 Roger was united in marriage with the former Laura Zapawa at Ascention Parish in Warren. Laura and Roger moved to Mayville in the winter of 1976. She preceded him in death on December 26, 1999. On October 8, 2005 he married the former Mary (Marker) German in Saginaw. Roger was employed as an electrician with the Detroit Edison Company for thirty-eight years, retiring on September 30, 2001. Roger was a great jokester and enjoyed playing with and teasing his grandchildren. He loved the out-of-doors, hunting, riding ATVs, and farming. Surviving Roger is his wife, Mary; five children, Gary Jagodzinski of Ruby, Jeffrey Jagodzinski, Sr. of Kentucky, Tracey Billow of Caro, Vicki Alverson of Saginaw, Kristen & Josh Eldred of Galesburg; sixteen grandchildren, Tara, Daniel, Dustin, Taylor, Nicholas and Brooke Jagodzinski, Jeffrey Jr., Nichole and Patrick Jagodzinski., Alex and Laura Billow, twin brothers, Christopher and Curtis Tompkins, Abbey and Brady Alverson, Shane Eldred; four great-grandchildren, Lucas, Alaysia, Zian and Wyatt; two sisters, Lorraine & Mike Saffron of Stoney Creek and Christine & Kenneth Peters of Sterling Heights; his mothers-in-law and father-in-law, Hattie Zapawa of Sterling Heights, Madeline Marker of Caro, Donald (Thelma) German of Vassar and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Laura, and parents, he was preceded in death by two fathers-in-law, Mike Marker and Joseph Zapawa; and one brother, Gary. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 4:00 PM at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Visitation will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of service at 4:00 PM.
