Roger Harold Schroeder

Roger H. Schroeder, 85, of Caseville, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Wm Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Roger was born July 29, 1936 to the late Harold and Dorothea (Pringnitz) Schroeder. He graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from GMI in Flint. He married Patricia K. Yoder on July 9, 1960 in Allen Park; she preceded him in death on March 28, 2005.

Roger retired from General Motors Tech Center in Warren as a mechanical engineer. Having had a family cottage in Caseville since 1953, he moved there permanently in 2000. Roger was a member of Scenic Golf Course and enjoyed sailing, including several Mackinac Races. He enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, hunting, woodworking, and time spent with family.

Roger is survived by his children Cris (Steve) Platto of Rochester Hills and Kurt (Sharon) of Davisburg; son-in-law Ed (Pam) Westrick of China; grandchildren Dillon, Kirsten (Jeff), Griffin, Leah, and Grace; significant other Carolyn Potter of Caseville; sister-in-law Carol Schroeder of Florida. He was preceded in death by his daughter Wendy Westrick and brother Ed Schroeder.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, October 26th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Heather Nowak officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
