Roger "Rocky" Vollmar

Our Rockstar "Rocky" passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette, surrounded by his loving family. Rocky was born June 28, 1943 in Caro, the son of the late Paul and Donna Jean (Hyde) Vollmar. He was a 1961 graduate of Caro High School. Rocky was a fourth-generation farmer. He served on the board of Thumb Electric and worked as a car hauler for Complete Auto Transit, an operator material hauler for Hydaker Wheatlake. Rocky was an avid pool player and a private pilot, and enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, golf, hunting, and watching western movies. He loved all of his family and was a very generous man. Rocky was passionate about living life with zero regrets. He was a member of the White Creek Club, Camp Five Hunting Camp, and Caro Moose Lodge. Wherever you would find Rocky, to know him was to love him with his sparkly eyes, and most recently, you would find him in his "Hall of Fame" smoke room. Survivors include his loving wife, Robin (Jones) Vollmar; children, Mark (Dawn) Vollmar, Scott (Marijo) Vollmar, Steven (Shelley) Vollmar, Maureen Zwerk, Karen (Phil) Partlo, Amanda (Justin) Grzemkowski, Deanna Miller; fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda (Wayne) Brooks and Sue (Ralph) Pylman; and the mother of his children, Judy (Burnham) Geesey; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Mike Zwerk. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance beginning at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to United Hospice of Marlette or Cass River Pet FriendZ.
