Roland Frank Bedell

Roland Frank Bedell of Akron, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at his home. Roland was born January 23, 1951 in Caro, the son of the late Theron and Ursula (Lietzke) Bedell. He was self-employed HVAC and owner of Thumb Refrigeration for more than forty-five years. Roland was on the Fairgrove Fire Department and served as an EMT. He was an avid Cub Cadet owner and enthusiast. Roland was a hard-working man who was always willing to help others.

Roland is survived by four children, Jeffrey Bedell and wife, Brianna, of Okemos, Nicholas Bedell and wife, Jessica, of Florida, Angela Vantol and husband, Brian, of Munger, Kristoffer Bedell of Bay City; nine grandchildren; and three brothers, Ralph Bedell and husband, Larry, of Grand Blanc, Mark Bedell of Puerto Rico, Bernard Bedell and wife, Julie, of Brighton.

In keeping with Roland’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the donor’s favorite charity.
