Roland Emil Nast

Roland "Rolly" Emil Nast, 94, of Gagetown, Michigan, passed away peacefully, December 7, 2020 at Northwood Meadows, Cass City, Michigan.

Rolly was born January 7, 1926 in Sebewaing, Michigan to the late Emil and Martha (Sbresny) Nast. Rolly and the former Nancy Pearl Parker were united in marriage on October 22, 1949 at St. Peters Lutheran parsonage in Bach, Michigan. Rolly lived his whole life in the Bach area and was a farmer for 50 years. He was also a certified master mechanic for over 40 years and worked at T.K. Schmidts in Unionville. He and Nancy enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, bowling and playing cards with family and friends. He was known to play the violin, ride his Indian motorcycle, loved to polka and was heard yodeling occasionally. Rolly cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and served as a trustee and treasurer.

Rolly is survived by his two daughters, Peggy (Greg) Turner of Delta Junction, Alaska and Patti Rogers of Gagetown, Michigan; five grandchildren, Zach (Mary) Turner, Hilary Turner, Matthew Rogers, Justin Rogers and Nathan (Michelle) Rogers; and six great grandchildren, Arianna Rogers, Alexander & Gabriel Rogers, Olin Parker Wilson, Lars & Rose Turner; his sister Joan Schiell of El Paso, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and his wife of 65 years.

Memorials may be made to Northwood Meadows or Compassus Hospice, Cass City, MI. A private family service was held with burial at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Bach, Michigan.
