Ronald Lee Aldrich

Ronald Lee Aldrich of Fairgrove, age 81, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw. Ron was born August 22, 1940 in Fairgrove, the son of the late Ward and Gertrude (Rockefeller) Aldrich. On June 12, 1959, he was united in marriage with the former Carol A. Volk at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church, and she survives. Ron worked in real estate and owned Patriot Party Mart in Caro and other convenience stores. He was a life member of the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, and taught himself to play various instruments. He spoke German and Spanish, enjoyed art, but most importantly, he loved his family. Ron was one of those individuals who never met someone he couldn't talk to. Ron is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Carol Aldrich; five children, Kimberly Aldrich & Joane Scicluna of Lake Isabella, Todd & Rhonda Aldrich of Perrinton, Rochelle & Paul Arnold of Clio, Carl & Shelly Aldrich of Clio, Andrea & Jeremy Rivera of Clarkston; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Larry & Pauline Aldrich of Arizona; two sisters, Norine Horst of Sandusky, Sandra McGuinn of Maryland; sister-in-law, Gloria Orban of Caro; brother- and sister-in-law, Jim & Kathy Volk of St. Charles; and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Philomena Ofori-Nipaah officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Samaritan's Purse or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
