Ronald F. Brill

Ronald F. Brill of Caro, age 72, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw, with his loving family by his side. Ron was born September 17, 1946 in Valentine, Nebraska, the son of the late Benjamin and Della (Brown) Brill, and was a 1964 high school graduate. Ron served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1969 serving in the Viet Nam War 101st Airborn Division, and became a lifetime member of the Caro VFW Post #4164 and a member of the Caro American Legion Post #7. After returning from the Army, Ron married his sweetheart, Sandra McAlpine, on July 25, 1969 at the United Missionary Church in Elkton. He worked at Delphi as a machine operator and tool and die setter for thirty years retiring in 2002. Ron enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, traveling back to Nebraska each summer to visit family, and riding his Harley Davidson trike. Ron is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Sandra; five children and their spouses, Angie & Greg DeArte of Santa Monica, California, Dennis Brill of Caro, Tami Grasmeyer of White Hall, Ronald, Jr. & Susie Brill of Imlay City, and Angie & J. Talaski of Dearborn; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a baby sister; and a special aunt, Josephine Yenglin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro, with military honors following the service afforded by the U.S. Army and Caro VFW Post #4164. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy, may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro VFW Post #4164.
