Ronald Kirk Clarkson

Ronald Kirk Clarkson of Caro, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 following an extended stay at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. Ron was born July 2, 1946 in Yale, the son of Kirk & Erma (Turner) Clarkson and graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1964. He was united in marriage with the former Judy Abke on August 10, 1968 in Caro, and the couple has cherished more than forty-five years together. Ron was employed with General Motors in Pontiac where he worked in various positions until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed spending time at home with his family, hunting, fishing, reading science fiction, woodworking and was a former Boy Scout Leader. Left to cherish Ron's memory are his wife, Judy Clarkson of Caro; two sons and their spouses, Bradley & Amy Clarkson of Owendale, Steven & Melissa Clarkson of Port Huron; two grandchildren, Cordell Clarkson of Owendale, Kylie Clarkson of Port Huron, and another grandchild on the way; his mother, Erma Clarkson of Applegate; two sisters, Sharon Garwald and her husband, Leon, of Florida, Karen Dawson of Warren; many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by one son, Grant Clarkson in 1977; his father, Kirk Clarkson in 1991; and his mother-in-law, Betty Abke in 2008. In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial will follow at a later date at the Indianfields Township Cemetery.
