Ronald Lee Engelhardt , age 65, of Sebewaing, passed away suddenly at Scheurer Hospital with his family by his side on January 16, 2023.
Ronald "Thunder" was born in Pigeon on February 10, 1957, to Elmer and Leola (Dickson) Engelhardt. He was one of 7 children. He graduated from USA High School, Class of 1975. He was a man of little needs. He loved his family with all his heart. He also loved Fords, you could hear country music blaring from his truck. He thought everyone needed to hear it. He loved watching the Lions and U of M Football. Go Blue! Ronald would plant his garden and then give it all away, loving to share what he grew. He was always helping someone. One of his favorite things to do was go out to Luckhard's Nursery, his first job. Jim didn't know when he hired him that Ron was going to be a permanent fixture for the next 50 years. He even built a couple of chicken coops for Jim's granddaughter. He also worked for Michigan Sugar Company from 1978 until July 2022. He coached USA JV football for many years and still coached a woman's softball league. He was the #1 Uncle in the family and was loved by all his nieces and nephews. He cherished his childhood friend, Gary Loeffler, "Loeff" as he called him.
Ronald leaves behind 3 brothers and 1 sister who loved him dearly and will miss him forever: Arthur Engelhardt, Roger (Linda) Engelhardt, Judy (Ken) Fuerst and Mark Engelhardt; brother-in-law, Gary Schulz; and Godchildren: Scott Engelhardt, Jodi Smith, Calvin Fuerst, Justin Engelhardt and Kayden Edler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Engelhardt; sister, Doralee Schulz; sister-in-law, Vera Engelhardt; and nephew, Charles Engelhardt.
