Ronald Arthur Gnagey

Ronald A. Gnagey, 77, of Sebewaing, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at home under hospice care.

Ronald was born August 13, 1947 in Sebewaing to the late Orie and Lawanda (Dutcher) Gnagey.  In 1965 he graduated from Owen-Gage High School.  He married Sandra Zehr on July 18, 1970 in Roanoke, Illinois.

In 2009 Ronald retired from Michigan State University as the Farm Manager.  After retiring he moved from Bath to Sebewaing.  He was a member of Pigeon River Mennonite Church and a volunteer with Thumb Bread Basket.  An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving around in his Ford pickup truck with his dog Buddy, surveying the local fields and crops.  He enjoyed MSU Basketball, Ford sports cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his wife Sandra; children Dorice (Mark) Torma of Unionville and Ryan (Lauren) Gnagey of Howell; grandchildren Corinn, Cambree, Anna, and Liam; siblings Joyce (Al) Fil of Caro, Roger (Pam) Gnagey of Deford and Kathryn Seibel of Harbor Beach.  He was preceded in death by his sister Mae Stalter.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, March 3rd at Pigeon River Mennonite Church with Rev. David Maurer officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 2-6 Sunday at Pigeon River Mennonite Church and one hour prior to the service Monday.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
