Ronald E. Killinger

Ronald E. Killinger (one of God's children), age 74, of Pigeon, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home. Ronald was born March 11, 1937 to the late Herman & Io (Dangler) Killinger at their family home in Sebewaing. On August 30, 1962 he married Else Jager in Birkenfeld, Germany. She preceded him in death January 2009. He retired as an SP5 Army Medic in 1980 after 20 years of service. He served during the Vietnam War. In 1969 Ronald and Else proudly adopted their daughter Nancy from Korea. He was an active member of the Pigeon VFW Post 2236 and was Post Commander from 1983-1984.

Ronald is survived by his daughter Nancy Dunn of Pigeon. His grandchildren Justine Killinger of Eastpointe, MI, Damian Killinger of Tempe, AZ, and Lauren Dunn of Morristown, TN. His great granddaughters Kamryn & Leiah. His siblings Robert Killinger, Dan (Lois) Killinger, and Joyce Harder. His sister-in-law Dora Killinger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Else, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2011 from 2-9pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.

The funeral service will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at New Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be made to the Military Widow & Children's Fund and New Salem Lutheran Church.
