Ronald L. Krohn

Ronald L. Krohn, age 75, lifelong Elkton resident, died Saturday morning, November 12, at his home from heart failure.

He was born February 26, 1936, in Bad Axe to the late Roy and Louise (Ewald) Krohn and grew up on a farm north of Elkton. Ron was a 1954 graduate of Elkton High School and was inducted in the US Army in January of 1955. After his discharge from the armed forces, he went to trade school and became a tool and die maker for Active Industries.
On February 15, 1958, he was united in marriage to Donna J. Kreh at the Elkton Evangelical United Brethren Church. They raised their family on a farm near Souletown and moved in to the village in 1984. Ron continued farming as well as working at Tower, until renting the farm out in 1997 and retiring from Tower in 2004.

He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon and a past member of the Elkton Lions Club. Ron enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, but especially loved being with his granddaughters and family.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Donna; three children, Randy (Janet) Krohn of Souletown, Brenda (Jack) Gleason of Elkton and Becky (Eric) Wachowicz of Bay City; a daughter-in-law, Barb Krohn of Pigeon; five granddaughters, Janelle, Suzie, Ashley, Liz and Sara; his sister, Marge (Richard) Hall of Cass City and his sister-in-law, Barbara Krohn of Elkton.
Preceding him in death was his son, Dave Krohn and two brothers, Bruce and Kenneth Krohn.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 15, at Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon. Rev. Gloria Haynes, pastor will officiate with military honors and burial at Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Monday and at the church after 10:00 AM Tuesday.
Memorials may be directed to the Dave Krohn Scholarship Fund, Salem or Elkton United Methodist Churches.
