Ronald L. McCormick, 87, of Caseville, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Ron was born September 6, 1935 in Caseville to the late Francis and Frances (Hartman) McCormick. In 1953 he graduated from Pigeon High School. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961. He married Patricia Down Trapp on May 2, 1986 at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville; she preceded him in death on March 12, 2021.
Ron, along with his brother Bud, owned and operated McCormick Shell in Caseville and later bought People’s Oil and Gas. Together they developed the Glen at Irish Springs. He was a member of the Caseville Eagles, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Knights of Columbus, Caseville Chamber of Commerce, Caseville Kiwanis and Caseville American Legion. He served on the Caseville Village Council.
Ron is survived by his daughters Michelle (Steve) Louwers of Caseville and Melissa (Dirk) DeBoer of Midland; step-children George Michael Trapp of Florida and Cynthia (Mike) Dufty of Lake Orion; grandchildren Christopher Rahn Louwers, Chase Louwers, Dalton DeBoer, Delaney DeBoer, Matthew Dufty, Patrick Dufty and Rachel Dufty; brother Bruce (Donna) McCormick of Caseville and sister Barbara (Ronald) Celano of Highland.
Private services were January 11th at St. Roch Catholic Church. Interment was in St. Roch Cemetery. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
