Ronald "Ron" Arthur Sampson

Ronald Arthur “Ron” Sampson, age 94, of Caseville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Country Gardens Assisted Living in Pigeon.

He was born on August 29, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Arthur and Josephine Sampson, and graduated from St. Catherine High School in 1950. It was there that he met the love of his life, Patricia Marie Whelan. They were married on August 29, 1953, and embarked on a beautiful journey together that was blessed with four children and 73 years of devoted marriage.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career in industrial sales, eventually operating his own business, Sampson Industrial Sales, Inc., with dedication, integrity, and great pride.

In 1992, Ron and Patricia made the Sand Point and Caseville community their permanent home. Ron found joy in life's simple pleasures: tending his garden, fishing along the shoreline, and spending time with family and friends. These passions brought him peace, purpose, and a deep connection to the community he cherished.

Above all, Ron will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to Patricia, his deep love for his family, and the quiet strength, kindness, and integrity that characterized his life. His memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his sister, Helen; his children, Bill (Michele), Barbara (Nick), Peggy (Mark), and Mike (Dorothy); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Heather (John), Chad (Andi), Justin (Kristin), Nicholas (Lindsay), Patrick (Alana), Katelyn (Nat), Michael (Erika), and Troy (Moira); and his great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Caroline, Annabell, Charlie, Noah, Luke, Michael, Jack, Lexi, Cloe, Jaxon, Calvin, Cooper, Liam, and Lana.

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Nancy, and his great-granddaughter, Jane.

The family would like to extend their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the Scheurer Healthcare and A&D Hospice teams for the compassion, kindness, and care they showed our dad during his final days. They brought him comfort and peace when he needed it most, treating him with dignity, gentleness, and genuine love. Their support not only cared for our dad but also brought comfort to our entire family during an incredibly difficult time.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 15 Moeller Street, Pigeon, with Fr. George Amos officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, and a graveside memorial service with military honors will follow at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. After the cemetery service, the family will host a reception at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.
