Ronald Edward Ross

Ronald E. Ross, age 75, of Caseville died Wednesday evening, January 7, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon.
He was born March 3, 1928, in Detroit to the late George R. and Marie (Gruver) Ross. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Princeton stationed at Pearl Harbor.
On February 24, 1968, he was united in marriage to Joyce M. O’Dell in Gross Pointe Woods.
He had been employed at the Beacon Elementary School in Harper Woods in the maintenance department for over 18 years, retiring in 1983 for health reasons. Several years later after Joyce retired they moved to the Capac/Emmett area near Port Huron, but in 1996 they traveled a little farther north and settled in Caseville.
Ron was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and the Caseville Eagles and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had a great sense of humor and loved to have fun, he enjoyed swimming, skating and snowmobiling.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce; sixteen nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his sister, Margie and his twin brother, Bob.
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday morning, January 10, at St. Roch Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Jim Strasz, his nephew, will officiate with burial in the church cemetery
