Rose Marie Garant

Rose Marie Garant, 84, of Caseville, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.

Rose Marie was born May 18, 1929 in Detroit to the late Arthur and Thelma (Beauchamp) Maguire. She graduated from St. Theresa High School, Detroit. On October 2, 1948 she married Thomas Osmond. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1998. She married Joseph Garant on July 3, 2004 and he preceded her in death on October 9, 2005.

She had lived in Clawson and worked for the City of Clawson, retiring in 1990. After retiring she moved to Lake Township. She was a member of the Caseville American Legion Auxiliary, Caseville Eagles Auxiliary and St. Roch Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering with the American Legion Honor Guard.

She is survived by her children Michael (Pam) Osmond of Caseville, Patrick (Sandy) Osmond of Nebraska, Martin (Nancy) Osmond of Goodrich and Mary (Robert) Dennis of Macomb; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and sister Barbara Walter of Clawson.

She was preceded in death by her sister Darlene Stone.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Friday, November 8th at St. Roch Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Roch Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-8 pm Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville. She will lie in-state one hour prior to mass on Friday in Church.

Memorials may be made to the Caseville American Legion.
