Roxanne Hiser

RoxAnne Hiser of Caro, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Roxanne was born April 22, 1954 in Caro, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Mathews) Cockerill. She graduated from Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan in 1972 and returned to Caro later that same year. In 1973, she began a career at the Caro Regional Center as a resident care aide until her retirement in 2002. In 2005, RoxAnne started working as a para-professional for Caro Community Schools, first at McComb Elementary and later Schall Elementary and Caro Middle School, until her second retirement in 2015. She enjoyed spending time with her Wednesday Night Girls Club, traveling, and visiting Indian River where she could spend time on the boat. RoxAnne also enjoyed shopping and her loss will be felt deeply by QVC. In her earlier years, she was an avid snowmobiler, and more recently found enjoyment doing CrossFit workouts. RoxAnne is survived by three siblings and their spouses, Barbara & Richard Frank, Diane Credeur, and F. Mark & Lisa Cockerill, all of Caro; sister-in-law, Kristina Cockerill of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, RoxAnne was preceded in death by infant triplet girls, Shelby, Morgan, and Erica Hiser in 1989; and her brother, James Cockerill in 2019. In keeping with Roxanne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Jerzy Dobosz officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Wellspring Lutheran Services.
