Roy Chubb, age 79, of Clearwater, FL formerly of Caseville died Monday evening, December 29, at Mease-Dunedin Hospital, Dunedin, FL.
He was born April 7, 1924, in BereAlston, Debinshire, England and moved to the Detroit area at the age of four with his parents, the late William and Louisa (Coleridge) Chubb.
On June 5, 1948, he was united in Marriage to Blanche “Sally” Videan in Detroit.
Roy was a police officer for the City of Detroit for 25 years, retiring in 1973. He then served as a Security guard at Providence Hospital, Southfield for 10 years. They had been traveling to the thumb since the early sixties and in 1986, they moved to their cottage in Caseville. Three years later, on August 29, 1989, Sally passed away. Roy stayed in Caseville for a while, but has lived permanently in Clearwater, FL for the past 9 years.
Surviving are four children, Sandra (Richard) Meuleveld of Blaine, MN, Patricia (Robert) McClellan) of Brighton, Cheryl (Allen) Yash of Fenton and William (Leeann) Chubb of Elkton; nine grandchildren, Terra, Paula, Cassandra, Jason, Michelle, Gordon, Kristin, Bill and Krista; two great grandchildren, Dakota and Kiley and two brothers, Will (Patricia) Chubb of St. Petersburg and Thomas (Sue) Chubb of Marysville.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Caseville Twp. Cemetery.
