Roy Douglas Keller, age 65, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, February 20, 2012. Doug was born on November 25, 1946 in Cass City to the late Elgene (Conger) and Albert Keller, Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Caro and a 1964 graduate of Caro High School. Doug was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served as a DK2 aboard the USS Enterprise. He was a proud Shellback, having crossed the Equator on February 12, 1971. Upon his discharge, he returned to Caro where he worked for Michigan Sugar Company as an Agricultural Mechanic B. Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had a close relationship with his family. He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Caro Post 7. Surviving Doug are one son, two daughters and their spouses, Ryan Broadworth of Caro, Rochelle & Joe Beedle of Caro, Ragan & Brian Cudney of Lapeer; three grandchildren, Jenna Broadworth, Tyrese Beedle, and Cooper Cudney; his aunts, Sandy and Arlene Keller of Caro and numerous cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two uncles, Gary and J.D. Keller. In keeping with Dougs wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Jon Herron officiating. Military Honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service by the American Legion Caro Post #7 and the United States Navy. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Keller Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Rochelle Beedle, 205 W.
