Ruby L. Damm

Ruby L. Damm, 87 of Pigeon, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at McLaren Hospital-Bay Region in Bay City.
She was born in Kilmanagh on September 18, 1927 to Arthur P. and Carrie L. (Haist) Finkbeiner. She graduated from the Kilmanagh School, and Sebewaing High School in 1945. Ruby also attended the Bay City School of Commerce. On June 17, 1949 she was united in marriage to Harold D. "Howie" Damm at the Salem E.U.B. Church in Pigeon. They had been married more than 62 years when Howie passed away on December 22, 2011.
Before her marriage, Ruby worked for Consumers Power and as a bookkeeper for Paul Motor Sales in Pigeon. She loved to entertain; she loved to cook; she was a wonderful homemaker, and supported Howie in all of his activities. Ruby dearly loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon.
Ruby is survived by three daughters, Pam (Jack) Sturm of Pigeon, Nancy Gunden of Bay Port, and Connie S. Damm of Pigeon; grandchildren, Jason (Leslie) Sturm of Saginaw, Kevin (Erica) Sturm of Pigeon, Bridget Gunden of Chicago, Illinois, and Andrew Gunden of Gowen, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Nicklaus and Emily; a sister-in-law, Mildred Rosenthal; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Glen Finkbeiner.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon, with Rev. David Stewart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery.
