Russell Herbert Bills

Russell Herbert Bills of Vassar, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Durand Senior Care after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer. Russell was born May 8, 1942 in River Rouge, the son of the late Charles and Opal (Warren) Bills. Throughout life, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was well known for riding his bike and moped all over Tuscola County. Russell loved to put a smile on your face and was always quick with a joke. His favorite time was spent teasing back and forth with his granddaughter. Russell’s kind and loving soul will be missed dearly.

Left to cherish Russell’s memory are his daughters, Serena Bailey, Tabitha Johnson, and Laura Tucker; son-in-law, Andrew Brown; grandchildren, William Parsell, Cynthia Kerby, Natosha Dasher, Brandon Beckrow, TJ Tucker, Amanda, Michael Patterson, Stuart Patterson, and Raynebow Brashaw; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Bills, Jim Bills, Judy Kush, and Linda Johnson; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his eleven siblings.

In keeping with Russell’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
