Russell Rayton Burgett

Russell Rayton Burgett, age 76, of Unionville, went to paradise, April 28, 2016, at Toni & Trish House in Auburn, surrounded by his family.

Russell was born November 11, 1939, in Sebewaing, to the late George Franklin and Minna Freida (Gotham) Burgett. He married Ruth M. Reinhardt on August 6, 1966, at the Unionville Moravian Church. From this union came 3 beautiful daughters: Raelyn (Nick) Socier, Rochelle (Kyle) Launstein and Rebecca (Tom) Kirchner; and one very special son, Ryan Duane Burgett. He was very proud to be a U.S. Army veteran. He worked many years as a journeyman plumber, retiring from Tower Automotive. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, hunting, and in the springtime watching for the robins to arrive. The sunshine of his life was spending time with his grandchildren: Brooklyn and Spencer Socier, Wyatt and Lauren Launstein, and Ally and Ethan Kirchner. He is also survived by 4 brothers: Franklin (Gail) Burgett, Donald Burgett, William (MaryJo) Burgett and James (Clara) Burgett ; and 2 sisters: Patricia (Ron) Kuhl and Lynne Burgett. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Bonnie Owens, Thelma Feinauer, Betty Griggs, and Marie Quintel; and one brother, Duane Burgett.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Unionville Moravian Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 12 noon until the time of service at 1pm.

A military committal service will take place after the church service at the Columbia Twp. Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Toni & Trish House in Auburn, Unionville Moravian Church or McLaren Hospice (Bay City).
