Russell A. Langley

May 18, 1944 — October 17, 2007

Russell A. Langley, age 63, of Caseville died Wednesday morning, October 17, at his home after suffering a apparent heart attack.
He was born May 18, 1944 in Bad Axe to the late Warren and Doris (Denzer) Langley.
On May 4, 1985, he was united in marriage to Virginia L. (Thomas) Oorbeck in Caseville.
Russ lived in the Caseville area most of his life. He had been employed at a dairy farm near Peck until his health forced him to retire.
Russ was a member of the Caseville Eagles Club and an avid Detroit Tiger fan. He enjoyed going to horse pulling and pony pulls, and hunting, both deer and pheasants and coached sports in his younger days. Most recently he took up garage saleing, finding things that somebody would ask him to watch for. Russ was a jokester, always telling jokes or playing one on someone, but was also giving and caring man. He received great pleasure giving things or money to someone in need, but doing so anonymously. Family was also a big part of his life, always helping his children and grandchildren in one way or another.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia; his children, Carrie and Greg Franzel of Ubly, Kim and Dana Wilson of Saginaw, Russell "Dusty" and Jan Langley of Decker, Gary and Tina Langley of Cass City, Tricia and Timothy Popham of Hawaii, Carla and Tracy Jacobi of Caseville, Leonard and Nan Oorbeck of Webster, FL, Ray Oorbeck of Lansing, Tom Oorbeck of Bay Port and Jeff Oorbeck of Saginaw; 20 grandchildren, Becky, Samantha, Chris, Joseph, Rachel, Jenna, Kyle, Jesse, Desirae, Kyle, Emily, Jordan, Jackson, Nick, Michelle, Macy, Tayler, Gregory, Christian and Wyatt. Also surviving are three brothers, Lawrence (Marjorie) Langley of Bad Axe, Lewis Langley of Waldron and Dobby Langley of Anchor Bay; his sister, Patricia Horger of Canton and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, William O'Bryant and Walter Langley and two sisters, Bernadetta Johnson and Alice Langley.
Russ may not have been a church going man, but he had more of God's grace, goodness and mercy then many of those who did go.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, October 20, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville. His son-in-law, Rev. Dana Wilson, pastor of Shiloh's Lighthouse of Saginaw will officiate with burial in Caseville Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 PM Friday and after 10 AM Saturday.
Memorials may be given to the Athletic Dept of Caseville Public School or the Juvenile Diabetes.
