Ruth A. Baur, age 96, passed away Thursday morning at Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth.
She was born February 27, 1918 in Huron County, daughter of the late John and Louise (Wachner) Jahr. She married Arthur Herman Baur on April 12, 1940. He passed away November 1968. She worked at Layhers Jewelry in Sebewaing for 28 years. She enjoyed traveling, needlework, playing cards and baking.
She is survived by her children: Larry (Elaine) Baur of Frankenmuth and Tamara (Wayne Schwarts of Sebewaing; grandchildren: Jan Strieter, Linal (Melissa) Baur, Wayne Schwartz, Jr.; step grandchildren: Tami Lewis, Todd Foley, and Tim "John" (Shelly) Foley; great grandchildren: Dustin Strieter, Justine Strieter, Christine (Steve) Turner, Jeff Baur, Justin Baur and Corey Baur; several step great grandchildren, including Tanner and Walker; and 3 great great grandchildren: Nicholas, Michael and Madison.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Monday, September 29, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Boyer officiating. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
Burial will take place privately at Northlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorial donations may be given to Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
