Ruth L. Dodge

Ruth L. Dodge, age 87, of Sebewaing, met her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, May 20, 2012. Ruth is the youngest daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Kollien) Brilinski. She was born October 14, 1924 in Detroit, MI. She had four sisters and two brothers who preceded her in death. Ruth married William Dale Dodge on March 2, 1954, the love of her life. They have two daughters, Debi Haist and Pam Siverson; and one son, Willy who also preceded her in death.

Ruth was a graduate of Alpena High School, Ferris and Delta College with an Associate's Degree in Business. She was a bank teller, stewardess for American Airlines, owner of Sebewaing & Huron Travel Agency, librarian, church secretary, Sunday school teacher and loving mother. She had a beautiful soprano voice and enjoyed singing in the choir and at home, especially with the Lawrence Welk Show. Her treasures were her grandchildren, Joel, Bryant, Annessa, Jordan, Sara, Max, Elden, Henry, Gillian and Casey; and great grandchildren Noah, Sean and Kaden. She was assisted through Alzheimer's with many generous and caring friends, including William Wilkins, Clark and Barb Eidt, Rich and Vera Wrobleski and hospice from McLaren and Grace.

Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and cherished her confirmation verse, Rev. 2 vs. 10. "Be thou faithful until death and I will give you a crown of life."

Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service is scheduled. Anyone wanting to pay respects to William and his family may call 989-325-6342 to set up a time to visit. Also, anyone wanting to make a memorial contribution may stop and Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Donation may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Radio Mission Fund or the Sebewaing Township Library.
