Ruth L. Eden, 94, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her home, Country Gardens in Pigeon, while under hospice care.
She was born in Brookfield Township on June 23, 1919, and was the daughter of Frederick J. and Louise A. (Radloff) Kundinger. She attended St. John Lutheran School in Kilmanagh, Brookfield #2, and Fairhaven School. On November 29, 1947 she was united in marriage to Albert T. Eden at St. John Lutheran Church, Kilmanagh, and they celebrated 66 years of marriage in November.
Ruth milked cows and farmed with her husband. She also loved her job working at the Bay Port School. She enjoyed numerous activities, especially visiting with family and friends, sewing, gardening, quilting, cooking and baking, canning, music, scenic drives, church functions and activities, and nature. She had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Pigeon, since 1951.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; children, Michael (Connie) Eden of Bay Port, Frederick (Lesa) Eden of Pigeon, Duane (Debra) Eden of Sebewaing, Dianne (Timothy) Diebel of Sebewaing, and JoAnn (Bill) Lakie of Sebewaing; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Menzel of Bay Port; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Frederick Kundinger, and siblings, Edna Woldt, Edgar Kundinger, and Gerhart Kundinger.
The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church, Pigeon, with Rev. James A. Gorsegner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or Scheurer Hospital.
