Ruth M. Edgerton

Ruth M. Edgerton of Caro, age 93, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Ruth was born April 8, 1923 in Highwood, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Baker) Vibbert. She worked for BWILCO Cabinets in Caro in her early years, and then was employed as a secretary at the Commission on Aging. She enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, crocheting and reading the Bible. Ruth also loved cats and butterflies. Ruth is survived by her children, Beverly Phillips of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Carol Root of Charlotte, Patricia & William Baranic of Pinconning, William & Jean Phillips of Bad Axe; ten grandchildren and spouses, Jim & Lady Confer, Claudia & Rob Major, Jennifer Hoag and special friend, Steve Knobloch, Jeanie & Ted Davis, Katie & Thad Southward, Suzann & John Armstrong, Rebecca & Kenneth Warden, Lou Ann Matthews, Beth Phillips, Amber & Kyle VanDePierre; eighteen great-grandchildren, Christopher, David, Robert, Brandon, Heather, Kendra, William, Michael, Samantha, Zackery, Christopher, Chelsey, Torey, Marcus, Maddie, Lacee, Mallory and Alexis; five great-great-grandchildren, Desmond, Matthew, Lillian, Bryce and Easton; four brothers, Glenn, Kenneth, Max and Wayne Vibbert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Albert and James; a son-in-law, Jerry Root; and great-grandson, Samuel. In keeping with Ruth's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating.
