Ruth Freeman

Ruth V. Freeman, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Brians House in Bay City. Ruth was born on March 16, 1916 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Roy & Mabel (Laurencelle) Lewis. She spent much of her life in Tuscola County, and many of her later years in Caro. Ruth held a variety of jobs during her working career, mostly as an accountant for several agricultural facilities. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist faith and a Life Member of the Eastern Star. Surviving Ruth are two daughters and their spouses, Nancy & William Burrows of Gagetown, Gretchen & Robert Rau of Frankenmuth; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister and her husband, June & James Bair; and one brother and his wife, William & Jean Lewis, all residing in Arizona; many nieces, nephews and their extended families. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three of her children, Laura Lee Sugarman; Thomas Abbey and James Abbey; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mairiam Krueger, Maebelle Scoles and Elizabeth Hoenshell.
