Ruth L. Kurish

Ruth L. Kurish of Caro, age 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Marlette Hospice Residence in Marlette. Ruth was born November 3, 1920 in Richville, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Radina) Heinlein. She was united in marriage with Henry Kurish on February 24, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1964. Ruth was a loving wife and mother, and was deeply devoted to her children. She enjoyed gardening, watching the squirrels and birds, especially hummingbirds, reading, cooking, baking and sewing. Ruth also cared for many stray and wounded animals, never turning one away. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Ruth is survived by her children, Judy Kurish, James Kurish, and David Kurish and his wife, Christine; son-in-law, Tim Colling; five grandchildren, Rawnee Trudeau, Nick & Mary Kurish, Chris & Jackie Kurish, Caitlyn Colling, and Madalyn Kurish; three great-grandchildren, Henry, Cora and James Kurish; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, George; daughter, Debra Colling; sister, Evelyn Karpovich; two brothers, William and Gene Heinlein; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at a lndianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro or United Hospice Residence in Marlette.
